Thank You for Supporting Our Inaugural Arctic Golf Challenge!
Improving the Quality of Life for Older Adults In Northern Franklin County

The team at the Community Friendship Volunteer Program (CFVP) a service of Community Health Center of the North Country (CHCNC) cannot thank you enough for supporting our Inaugural Arctic Golf Challenge. Participants will be playing 9 holes of golf in the snow with all proceeds from the event going towards the CFVP program.

This program, run by Susan Schrader, is unlike any other program found in the North Country region; it addresses very important unmet needs. Many of our older generations lose touch with their community and do not have the support they need to carry out daily activities. Add in challenges unique to our area—cold and severe winters, long distances from services, and you greatly increase the risk of isolation and loneliness. The CFVP team is changing this, and thus allowing people to stay independent, and in their own homes as long as possible, while offering assistance when transition to assisted living is absolutely necessary.

This will be a great day of fun at the Malone Golf Club, as well as a way for businesses to network and friends to gather; the event not only features 9 holes of golf but it also includes other outdoor winter activities, indoor contests, prize raffles, and plenty of food and refreshments to go around; a dinner and awards reception will be held at the conclusion of the tournament.
