Assistant to the Executive Director

Assistant to the Executive Director

Under the direct supervision of the Executive Director this position provides administrative support for the Executive Director and other members of the senior management team. In addition to typing, filing and scheduling, this position shall perform duties such as coordination of meetings and conferences, obtaining supplies, working on special projects, answering non-routine correspondence and assembling highly confidential and sensitive information. Additionally, this position deals with a diverse group of external callers and visitors as well as internal contacts at all levels of the organization. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize and organize workload as well as recommend changes in office practices and procedures.

Requirements: An Associate’s Degree as an Executive or Administrative Assistant or related field as well as 3 or more years of previous office experience. One year of supervisory experience is preferred. This position will require some evening hours for Committee and Board Meetings. Candidate must also be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Publisher.

Case Manager

Case Manager

Community Health Center of the North Country seeks a motivated individual for the position of Case Manager. Located in Gouverneur, this position will work with the Director of Communications and Marketing and other Health Center staff to market services to the uninsured/under-insured people in the area through health fairs, screenings, social media, radio, and TV ads. This person will also serve as a liaison between the health center and other treatment providers, community groups and social service agencies.

An Associate’s Degree in a health or human service field required. Knowledge of available community resources and their organization, purpose and use also required.

Certified Coder

Our expanding network of Health Centers requires two full time Certified Coders. Job duties include, but are not limited to, reviewing and analyzing health records to identify relevant diagnosis, reviewing procedures for distinct patient encounters, and conducting a review of records to ensure compliance with coding and documentation guidelines as well as governmental regulations. This position requires a Certified Coder certification through AAPC or AHIMA and advanced computer skills to include: EMR, Word, Excel, and Access. Both positons will be based in Canton.

Incentives Coordinator

Our team seeks candidates for the position of Health Center Incentives Coordinator. This position will be responsible for continuously researching and obtaining knowledge of all incentive programs and their requirements.

Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree preferred. Two years of medical office experience is required. Medical billing and coding experience is preferred. Additional qualifications include working knowledge of medical terminology and incentive program requirements, and effective verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of and/or experience with Federally Qualified Health Centers preferred.

Position requires current LPN Certification or RN Certification, and previous experience working in a clinical setting or doctor's office. Psych/Psych NP

We are seeking a Psychiatrist and/or a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis with recommendations for treatment, prescribe medications as conditions indicate and conduct follow-ups with recommendations for any changes to Treatment Plans. The successful candidate will be part of a comprehensive, multidisciplinary health care team made up of licensed clinicians, LCSWs, nurses and case managers and will work with the team to provide quality care to the individuals served.

Our team seeks qualified candidates for the position of Staff Accountant. This position based in Canton will assist in the coordination of daily activities of the finance department as well as provide general accounting responsibilities. The position requires an Associate's Degree in Accounting,Bachelor of Science in Accounting is preferred. Related field and a minimum of three to five years accounting experience required. Experience in accounting computer applications and in a non-profit setting as well as knowledge of health centers and the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) preferred.
