Accountant

Our team seeks qualified candidates for the position of Accountant. This position based in Canton will assist in the coordination of daily activities of the finance department as well as provide general accounting responsibilities. The position requires an Associate's Degree in Accounting, Bachelor of Science in Accounting is preferred. Related field and a minimum of three to five years accounting experience required. Experience in accounting computer applications and in a non-profit setting as well as knowledge of health centers and the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) preferred.

Health Information Clerk

Health Information Clerk

Community Health Center of the North Country is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented individual for the position of Health Information Clerk. This position is located in our Canton office and is responsible for processing medical record requests, evaluating patient medical records and charts for correctness and completeness, reviewing claim remedies in our electronic medical records (EMR) systems, and coordinating resolutions with the appropriate department. Requirements include: A High School Diploma or equivalent, and one year of medical office experience. Knowledge of EMR is preferred.

This position will be responsible for ensuring all employee health requirements are met, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards for the safety and well-being of employees, and providing training and instruction for employees in the area of infection control, medication certification and other health and safety related training programs. In addition to the supervision of staff, this position will support the operational needs of the health center, and assist in the implementation of practices, achieving patient-centered medical care standards. This person will be responsible for creating a work environment conducive of positive employee morale, focusing on staff engagement and accountability. Requirements for this position include an Associate's Degree in a business-related field, or a minimum of five years' of equivalent experience in an office setting. Two years' previous clinical office experience is preferred.

Patient Access / Switchboard Supervisor

Patient Access / Switchboard Supervisor

Our team currently seeks a Patient Access/Switchboard Supervisor. This position is responsible for the day to day supervision, training and data integrity of the Patient Access (Registration, Reception, Scheduling) and Switchboard functions within CHCNC's Canton location. This person will assist in the implementation of transforming the practices into a patient-centered medical care site. Position will involve travel to other CHCNC locations as needed, to provide education and training to Patient Access staff. Requirements include an Associates Degree in Business Administration or related field, or a minimum of two (2) years previous office supervisory/lead experience in a healthcare setting, as well as a strong human resources management/administrative background. Strong knowledge of health center registration and switchboard operations preferred.

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Our team is currently seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis with recommendations for treatment, prescribe medications as conditions indicate, and conduct follow-ups. Located in Canton, this individual will be working mainly with infants, pregnant, breastfeeding and postpartum mothers, focusing on nutrition and heights/weights. This person will be responsible for providing and documenting any participant-centered nutrition education responsive to the identified needs/interests of participants and promote healthy lifestyles plan, including physical activity options in the clinic and community. Requirements: Registered Nutrition and Dietetic Technician OR Registered Nurse with Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate health-related field with at least six credit hours in nutrition. A valid driver's license is required, in addition to flexibility in work hours, which include working evenings, Saturdays, and traveling to trainings as assigned. This individual will support the mission, goals and objectives of Community Health Center of the North Country, by improving nutritional services in the WIC Program. This staff person will follow standards for the assessment process used to determine WIC eligibility, and personalize nutrition education, high risk care plans, referrals, and tailoring of food packages.

Requirements: Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in Nutrition, along with flexibility in work hours which includes working evenings and Saturdays, attending trainings as assigned, and a valid driver's license for travel between St. Lawrence and Franklin Counties.
