Accountant

Our team seeks qualified candidates for the position of Accountant. This position based in Canton will assist in the coordination of daily activities of the finance department as well as provide general accounting responsibilities. The position requires an Associate's Degree in Accounting, Bachelor of Science in Accounting is preferred. Related field and a minimum of three to five years accounting experience required. Experience in accounting computer applications and in a non-profit setting as well as knowledge of health centers and the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) preferred.

Billing & Collections Specialist

Billing & Collections Specialist

Our health centers are growing, and our team is currently recruiting for the position of Billing and Collections Specialist. This position will work out of our Canton location. Duties include performing accurate and timely billing as well as collection of payments for all billable Health Center services. Qualified applicants must have a High School Diploma or equivalent. Three years of experience in medical billing is preferred.

This position will provide health education and outreach services to members of our community who are uninsured or under-insured, as well as facilitate referrals for services for patients who present with needs or barriers to care. The Case Manager assists patients with our sliding fee scale program, navigating billing issues with area hospitals and provider offices, and helping patients overcome transportation barriers to attend appointments.
Requirements: An Associate's Degree in a health or human service field, knowledge of available community resources, excellent communication skills, and the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with patients, staff, and the community.

Lead Dental Assistant

Community Health Center of the North Country is in search of a Lead Dental Assistant for our fast-paced Canton Dental Office. The Lead Dental Assistant performs duties as assigned by the Dentist in conformity with training and within legal limitation, as recognized by the American Dental Association and the New York State Education Department. The Lead Dental Assistant also performs additional administrative duties as assigned by the Office Supervisor, to help ensure the safe and efficient operation of the department. Office Supervisor - Canton

Office Supervisor - Canton

Community Health Center of the North Country seeks candidates for an Office Supervisor. Located in Canton, this position acts as a liaison between patients, providers and staff members by providing prompt and professional service and assisting in the referral process, prior authorizations, pre-registration, arrival of patients, sliding fee applications and payment plans. This position shall supervise, train and ensure data integrity within the Dental, Patient Access (Registration, Reception and Scheduling) and Switchboard functions within Community Health Center of the North Country's (CHCNC) Canton site, and create a work environment conducive of positive employee morale, focusing on staff engagement and accountability. Community Health Center of the North Country seeks enthusiastic candidates for the position of a WIC CPA. Located in Canton, this individual will be working mainly with infants, pregnant, breastfeeding and postpartum mothers, focusing on nutrition and heights/weights. This person will be responsible for providing and documenting any participant-centered nutrition education responsive to the identified needs/interests of participants and promote healthy lifestyles plan, including physical activity options in the clinic and community. Requirements: Registered Nutrition and Dietetic Technician OR Registered Nurse with Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate health-related field with at least six credit hours in nutrition. A valid driver's license is required, in addition to flexibility in work hours, which include working evenings, Saturdays, and traveling to trainings as assigned. Must be available to travel between St. Lawrence and Franklin Counties.

Our team currently seeks candidates for a Qualified Nutritionist for our WIC program, based out of our Malone location. This individual will support the mission, goals and objectives of Community Health Center of the North Country, by improving nutritional services in the WIC Program. This staff person will follow standards for the assessment process used to determine WIC eligibility, and personalize nutrition education, high risk care plans, referrals, and tailoring of food packages.

Requirements: Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in Nutrition, along with flexibility in work hours which includes working evenings and Saturdays, attending trainings as assigned, and a valid driver's license for travel between St. Lawrence and Franklin Counties.

Registered Dietician (RD/RDN) preferred.
